My 20% project is about teaching how to play piano chords. I will be teaching Jung Min how to read music sheet written with chords and play piano with chords. We are going to meet every Thursday at BHCS auditorium after school. Our ultimate goal is to make Jung Min be able to play her favorite song while singing until the end of the project.
I have been playing piano in chapel band for 3 years. And I realized that playing piano chords isn't very hard at all. I have always wanted to use my talent of playing piano to teach somebody, and show them how easy learning piano is. Fortunately, Jung Min came to me and asked if I could teach how to play piano for her. I would like to dedicated my time to teach Jung Min and see her playing piano.
Through this project, I could learn how hard it is to be a teacher and teach students. Also, this project could be a chance to check if whether I have talent in teaching somebody or not.
This project might not be seen as contribution to the school. However, through how Jung Min is learning piano, I want everybody else to realize that learning piano is not a very hard thing and give it a chance to him or herself to try out. Since Jung Min has absolutely zero experience of learning chords, showing the process of learning piano chords will motivate others to trigger their hidden ambition of learning piano.
Hey Ian, I'm Jimin from 11th grade.
I think the experience of sharing one's talent is splendid. You have such great talent in piano. Since I listen to you play the piano every friday, I am certain of it. I wish I had such talent that I can use to help or teach others. It's great that you have such talent that you can use to help others achieve their goals. I'm sure you'll be a wonderful teacher because you are always very understanding, and you always try to think from the other's perspective.
I think your project is very awesome :) I hope your project is successful.
Bro I still remember me begging you to teach me how to play the keyboard. Though in the end I realized that it wasn't that hard after all like you said. I admire your idea of teaching your peer to play the piano, but I have to say, please teach me to when you have the time. Anyways, good luck on your project and I hope you strive towards your goals
This looks great Ian. It will be a good chance for you to learn about the teaching others. In my opinion, teaching is a one of the most difficult task to do because it needs an ability to make student fully understand; and I think you'll get a meaningful lesson through this piano lesson with Jung Min. I hope there will be a good consequence at the end of this project. Good Luck Ian!
Sounds great! I think this will be a great opportunity for Jung Min to learn how to play piano, and at the same time, you can also check yourself whether if you have talent in teaching piano. It would be awesome if you post some pictures or the blog about the process. Good luck on your 20% time project.
